Swadlincote Fire Station – Solar PV installation for Blandfords

    Size: 21.66kW
    Est. Production: 18,476Wh pa
    CO2 reduction: 9,774kg pa

Environmental Energies have installed a total of 76 solar panels on Swadlincote’s new (2018) £3M Fire Station. The fire station, in Civic Way, was purposely built, on the site of the old 66 year old station, to accommodate Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service. The new hub currently has two fire engines, staffed by 2 wholetime watches, and 1 on-call unit, includes provision for community and youth engagement and it will be used by cadets. It includes a gym for firefighters, which is also open to the on-site ambulance crews.

The equipment included 76 Hanwha QCells 285Wp solar panels, a Solis 20kW inverter. Euroclamps were pre-installed and are designed to fix to the standing seam roof and the Renusol Varisole system is then attached to the roof via the Euroclamps.

The challenge for this project was finding an appropriate, approved way to install onto the standing seam roof material. Euroclamps enabled us to install a very neat looking system.
